1927年から長い歴史を刻まれ、日本の書店、出版社である紀伊國屋書店は新宿本店をはじめ全国主要都市に64店舗、海外26店舗を展開しております。
今回ご紹介したいのは新宿南店でございます。
When it comes to Japanese bookstores, of course the main one that comes to mind is the internationally renowned "Kinokuniya". Started in 1927, the Japanese publisher and bookstore has spread from their original main storefront in Shinjuku to over 64 locations nationally, and has also opened 26 international storefronts.
Today, we will explore Kinokuniya's "Shinjuku South" Storefront.
1996年に設立され、紀伊國屋書店さんが戦力拠点として新宿を強化するために展開した新宿南店。
高島屋新宿店オープンに伴い東急ハンズと一緒に出来た大型書店。 面積が広く、綺麗なビルなのでございます。それに紀伊國屋書店の３階と７階に高島屋本館との連絡通路があり、非常に便利です。
Built in 1996, Kinokuniya's Shinjuku South store was created as a way to strengthen their position in the market and also for the high potential for customers in that area. The huge bookstore opened simultaneously with its sister building Takashimaya/Tokyuu Hands. The building itself is both spacious and gorgeous. Furthermore, Kinokuniya offers extra convenience in the form of walkways connected directly to the neighboring Takashimaya located on both the 3rd and 7th floors of the buildings.
７階建て各フロアは品揃えがよく、書籍セレクションを幅広く扱っております。コミックファンたちが喜ぶ１階のコミックコーナーから、英語の能力アップをしたい方には興味深い６階の洋書コーナーまで...ジャンルの豊富な書店でございます。ちなみに新宿本店と違い、落ち着いた雰囲気が漂っています。
This 7 floor Kinokuniya stocks a good variety of items including a wide variety of books and publications. This store has an abundance of genres, from the Manga area for the comic fans located on the first floor, to the foreign books section on the 6th floor for those who want to work on their English. Incidentally, unlike the main Shinjuku storefront, the Southern store offers a more relaxed atmosphere than its parent store.

Kinokuniya also offers biographies on various world famous artists. These include such artists as "The Beatles" and "Michael Jackson."
