TOWER RECORDSの創始者であるラス・ソロモン（Russ Solomon）がカリフォルニア州サクラメント市の映画館TOWER THEATERの1Fにレコード専門店TOWER RECORDSを開いてから、約５０年が経ちました。日本での歴史は、1979年、レコード卸業としてスタートし、1980年には日本一号店を札幌にオープン、現在では79店舗展開しております。

Tower Records has a somewhat complex business history. It has been almost 50 years since Russ Solomon opened specialist shops in Sacramento, California. In 1979, he then made advances towards distributing records in Japan, though it wasn't until 1980 when he opened the first store in Sapporo. The stores were a hit and since then, the number of stores throughout Japan has risen to 79 in total.

渋谷のTOWER RECORDSは１９８１年に設立されました。
今回紹介するTOWER BOOKS様は池袋、新宿と並ぶ三大副都心で日本を代表する繁華街の中に位置したTOWER RECORDS渋谷店の7Fにあります。
8階建ての大きな建物で、ジャンルによってフロアが分かれていて、様々なジャンルのCDやDVDがあり、本は日本一豊富な品揃えと言えるでしょう。もちろん今回"TOWER BOOKS"を選んだ理由は洋書の豊かさ、本のセレクションの面白さです。

The Tower Records in Shibuya was founded in 1981. Like its sister stores in Ikebukuro and Shinjuku, the Shibuya branch is placed in huge shopping areas within one of the three largest urban subdistricts of Tokyo, With a myriad of items and genres including DVDs, CDs, and even books, there is something for everyone. Each floor is separated by genre.
"Tower Books" is located on the 6th floor and is primarily books and publications. Of course, the reason why we chose to showcase "Tower Books" is that the selection is interesting, and it also has a broad choice of foreign books as well.

１）JR渋谷駅から約３分の距離で、
ハチ公口を出て、
Located a three minute walk from JR Shibuya Station - Hachiko Exit

すぐに交差点を渡ります。
Immediately cross the intersection

２）そして、丸井JAMの方面へ歩きます。
Head towards the Marui JAM building

３）その信号の手前にタワーレコード渋谷店様があります。
You should be able to see the Tower Records from the next stop light.

山手線に乗ると、すぐに見つけることができます。山手線渋谷駅から歩くより、東京メトロ副都心線　渋谷駅の13番出口から地下通路へ歩いて行く方が行きやすいかもしれません。
It is very easy to find if you get to the station via the Yamanote line. For those taking the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, it is easier to take exit 13 to the underground passage.
